Excellent within limitations Bought this specifically to turn off a trickle charger after six hours. (Trickle chargers will continue to charge even after the battery has reached capacity which will eventually destroy the battery.) I've used it for about a month and it's performed perfectly. It's extremely simple to set up and works either on a user-programmed repeating basis or it can be manually set per use. So far it has been dead-on accurate. Just be aware that, per the manufacturer's specifications, it is limited to devices of no more than 600W -- hence 4 stars rather than five. Won't turn off my LCD TV These timers sell for a great price and are easy and intuitive to use. But what good is it if it won't turn off the device it is hooked up to? I am trying to turn off my flat screen TV. I am confident that it is programmed correctly and it does make a click sound at the time programmed when it is supposed to turn the TV off, but the TV stays on. Yes I have tried the reset button a couple of times, followed by reprogramming of course.
I am using it on an outlet that powers a UPS and has two new computers running "active PFC" PSs. Could all of this be interupting the circuitry in the timer? If does seem to work fine when hooked up to another outlet, powering just one lamp.
Too much trouble and money to send it back. But I am happy with another timer: Intermatic DT620CL, but it is pricy at about twenty bucks. at last! We have bought too many timers that work for awhile, and then something happens. These are simple to set, the time runs on batteries, not house current and are as accurate as my digital watch! it works i didnt know it used batteries not a problem, i tried it it seems to work perfect easy to set up and has on and off switch so you can leave it plugged in and still use your light and turn the timer on when you need it Reliable Digital Timing Control at a Great Price! Up and running in five minutes after the old fashioned standard timer - Intermatic TN111GC Lamp and Appliance Timer - failed within two weeks! I use it to control the power transformer for my low-voltage walk lights, so it's handy for more than just lamp control.
